The Lincolnshire Performance and Development Squads have now been selected for the 2025/26 season. The selection process is always a challenging process with so many juniors and minimal places available (we have in excess of 450 junior boys in Lincolnshire who are members of golf clubs). During that process the coaches and organisers use the following criteria:

The players attitude

Commitment to their own development

Competition results

How many qualifying rounds have been recorded throughout the previous season

Availability and eagerness to compete in County led fixtures

Age

If you have not been selected in the Performance or Development coaching groups, do not be deterred. With good development and strong performances, there will always be the opportunity to represent your County.

Futures Squads

Throughout 2026, we will be running our Futures Squads for the 4th successive year. The Futures groups are split regionally into North and South and will contain a maximum of 10 junior golfers under the age of 14 years old typically. At the under 14 age group, the landscape changes rapidly and therefore, the LUGC will be hosting a Talent Identification Day to be held at Woodhall Spa on April 14th . Entry will be an application process specifically aimed at U14 junior boys.

The Futures groups become a key part of our junior development programme and those players often form the cornerstone of our junior teams for the coming years.

The date for the event is Tuesday 14th April

If you aspire to be a member of Lincolnshire’s coaching groups or would like to represent Lincolnshire in junior matches, we encourage you to enter the LUGC hosted, junior competitions shown on the Junior Fixtures page and on the online entry page.

Good performances won’t go unnoticed by our selectors.
