Dear Parents and Players

By now you should have seen the letter from Trevor and Carol Ireland informing you of their ‘retirement’ as organisers of the Lincolnshire Little Imps. We wish them well for the future and thank them for their hard work.

They also state that they are handing over the reins of the Lincolnshire Little Imps to me, Keith Moody. I have shadowed Trevor and Carol during the 2023 season and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I am quite happy to continue and take up organising the Lincolnshire Little Imps.

I have been a member of Ashby Decoy Golf Club, Scunthorpe for 35 years and I have several years experience working with junior golfers. I was the club’s junior organiser for several years up to 2010 before becoming club captain and from 2014, for 7 years, I was the county junior organiser for the LUGC and the LUGC are quite happy for me to take on this current role.

Trevor and Carol have done a wonderful job over the last 10 years therefore it is not my intention to change things. I will send out the registration form and fixture list for the 2024 season early in 2024. I am currently confirming details with the host clubs for 2024.

Also, if your club would like to host a Lincolnshire Little Imps fixture in the future please let me know and don’t forget Trevor and Carol will be checking the results and photos next season and no doubt come along to a few of the competitions. Finally, we will always welcome newcomers to the ranks of the Lincolnshire Little Imps. So please tell your friends at your clubs.

LITTLE IMPS TOUR 2023

The Tour is a series of five 9-hole events for youngsters who are just entering the game of golf. Boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14 are welcome whether they have a handicap or not. The events are simple, enjoyable stroke play competitions.

The dates and venues are as follows

Monday 3rd April – Belton Park Golf Club -- 11.00am

Monday 24th July – Woodthorpe Hall Golf Club- 11.00am

Monday 31st July – Gainsborough Golf Club - 11.00am

Monday 14th August – Pottergate Golf Club – 11.00am

Monday 21st August – Kirton Holme Golf Club – 11.00am

Play will be in groups of two or three, and a relative should be with each player to help with the recording the score, managing equipment and offering encouragement. There will be modest prizes for achievement – please dress smartly and avoid jeans and trainers on the course and in the clubhouse.
